So where it all began...

One day I was doing my makeup getting ready for the day. And I had a deep thought for about 8 minutes. What do I want to achieve in my life 🤔?

Obviously besides studying in university right now, I got to have a hobby or something that can balance it out. In my opinion makeup is really therapeutic, it shows your creativity and skills which then can turn into a profession if you're really interested in it. 

So going from there, i looked online what other people were doing. Most of them I'd say are selling lashes or lip gloss, probably most popular items on the market at the moment. And I wondered if I could do something similar even though I had doubts whether it would be successful as there is many competitors producing the same category as me. 

After days of debating which one, I choose eyelashes as I feel like it would be easier to advertise. Especially because I also love detailing products to the best it can be with little touches. 

To start with I took a notebook & did my research on different things needed to produce a successful business. Brainstorming ideas for company names, ways to display my products etc. 

PS - I do recommend doing a business course if possible it can be a diploma even to get a better understanding of the concept of business, and doing a lot of research is really important  to keep the sales ongoing as there are a lot of competitors who you got selling similar products within the same category.

At first I didn't have the materials to make the lash strips. So to keep myself productive, I made the different pages on the website i.e. the contact page, the home page etc. Making it all look aesthetic & attractive for people to feel welcomed when they visit.

Also having your own domain is useful, it builds your business' recognition. Usually every website builder will have a plan which will suit your budget, a domain should be free for the first year although after it would be from about £15 to £25 per annual. So even if your just getting started from scratch, my advice would be get a plan & build your business from there. For me I used Webador since I found the plans quite beneficial especially because I was low on savings too.

And of course engage people on social media even if you have barely little to start. Gaining trust & attention will help your business grow, putting yourself out there. I know it can be scary to begin with if you want to start a business, but trust me you will do amazing if you put in the effort & time. 

Main thing to have & this applies to any career you want to pursue, is to be positive!! Everyone will experience times where they feel they want to give up especially in the business industry. There are times where I was like that as well just felt lack of motivation, doubting if the business would succeed, trying to fit in time for the business & study. 

But have faith in yourself in whatever you want to do!! Sprinkle a little sparkle in everything you do. 💖
